Mastering PhotoShop’s CURVES
Moderator Jerry Gerber
registration is required RSVP david@hopewellphotographic.com
June 8th at D & R
7 PM to 9:30 PM
$5.00 and PPC membership required

About this workshop...
Curves is the single most powerful adjustment tool in Photoshop. It can replace the functions of Levels, Contrast, and Brightness, as well as some color tools. Curves, teamed with layers, stands in for a trunk full of lights, reflectors and optical filters. Curves is the first Photoshop tool I use to correct tonal errors and “naturally” enhance photos.
Some Photoshop users shy away from Curves because of its complicated look. In fact, Curves can be used intuitively, much like a “slider” tool, and without recourse to numbers or other math. And, Curves can strengthen your images in ways that are not possible with other tools.
In this one-session workshop, you’ll learn by example and practice how to enhance texture, create custom vignettes, brighten shadows, even replicate the graduated ND filter you forgot to use when you took that too-bright-sky photograph.
Who should attend?
This is an intermediate level Photoshop workshop. You will get the most from this class if you already use Photoshop (not Elements) to some degree, but shy away from the Curves adjustment tool. Familiarity with adjustment layers is helpful, but I will review what you need for the class...

General Meeting. Speaker: Hope Proper

Relating to Nature: A discussion of the ways in which different photographers use the photographic image to reveal their relationship with and/or understanding of nature.
COMMENT: I am attracted to the manner in which specific photographers relate to nature — how they approach it and represent it in their imagery. By analyzing the wide variety of nature images I have collected during the past 28 years, I have acquired a better understanding of my own complex relationship with the natural environment. neral meeting, upstairs room.
